Hi everyone, it's so nice to meet you! We are Chuck & Lorraine Toman, pictured here with our family. We have owned this family property for over ten years, having purchased it from Chuck's parents in 2013. His parents had owned it for the previous 34 years. It first served as the family cabin, and later their home after retirement.
The vineyard was started in 2010, with 12 test vines from the University of Wisconsin wine grape trial in Spooner, WI. New vines were planted in the following years, reaching it's full size of 120 vines in 2022. We grow primarily University of Minnesota cold hardy varieties including Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Blanc, Marquette, and Itasca. We also have a planting of the older varieties Zilga and Edelweiss. Being home winemakers ourselves, we offer these grapes for sale to other home winemakers. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing grapes for your wines.
Now that we have both retired from our full-time jobs, we felt this property was too special to keep it to ourselves. While we won't be able to sell our homemade wine (you'll see it aging in the bar area), we will serve the best wines that Wisconsin has to offer. Plan on enjoying all of your favorite local wines as well as wines from downstate and the Door County peninsula all here in one place.
If wine is not quite your thing, don't worry--we've got you. There will be a selection of the best Wisconsin beers as well.
